Nestled in the city of Nairobi, Our Restaurant is A Cosy Swahili canteen and all about great food from the coast.

Traditional dishes in large portions rim with flavour in the form of pilau, biryanis and coconut fish.

Delicious side dishes such as ugali, naan bread and rice make a feast for the senses.


OurHistory

The Restaurant was Established in the Early 80’s as a Small Canteen to Serve the Local Travellers and as a Meeting Point for the City Dwellers on their Break Time,
Also to serve the Traders Mainly from inland tribes of East and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean traders (Arabs, Indians, and Portuguese).

The Traders and Travellers running shops throughout the coastal cities of Mombasa, Malindi, and Lamu, as well as in other towns where they live. The Restaurant made them feel at Home with the Home Cooked Style
Swahili food.

The Swahili’s staple food is of Arabic descent, and most of the cooking is rich in spices. Popular Swahili cuisine includes pilau and Wali wa Nazi (rice cooked in coconut milk) served with a thick meat stew or fish. lots of different grains, vegetables and fruits, including beans, peas, tomatoes, potatoes, kale, spinach, mangoes, coconut and bananas. Goat meat and chicken are traditionally served during special Occasions.
